The user must have permission to post messages to the channel where the notifications should be appearing. If you've checked both of those things and you're still not seeing notifications appear in Slack, the next step is to check the GitLab CI/CD Settings page in your project. Make sure that "Send notification to Slack" is enabled. If it's disabled, simply click the toggle to enable it, then save your changes. That should do the trick!

4. Building your own Slack app to receive GitLab CI/CD and pipeline Slack notifications

If you want to create your own Slack app to receive notifications for GitLab CI/CD and pipeline in Slack, you need to configure the webhook URL for your Slack workspace and make sure that the user sending the notifications has permission to post messages to the channel. When your Slack app is ready, create a new webhook URL from the Incoming Webhooks section. Then, copy the webhook URL and paste it into the Webhook field in the Slack notifications section of your GitLab project. Finally, click Save changes to confirm your settings.
